ESCAPE explores the power of nature as a healing tool for the mind, body and soul. Modern living has led to many people adopting stressful lifestyles and spending a significant amount of time within their work environment. It is estimated that 90% of our time is now spent indoors, and research has proven that this is negatively impacting wellbeing.

 

Taking inspiration from the biophilia hypothesis, which is built upon the concept that we as humans have an innate tendency to affiliate with nature, the collection seeks to encapsulate a hybrid of natural elements within interior spaces.

 

The range will feature fabrics and surfaces intended for use in office settings, aiming to indirectly reconnect the users of the environment to the benefits of the natural world. This will be achieved through the use of material, pattern, texture and colour.

 

Health and wellbeing is a core focus of the project and the tactile qualities of outcomes aim to transform areas of the office into comfortable breakout spaces where people can relax and unwind throughout the working day. A calming and refreshing palette intends to enhance mood and psychological wellness.
